Unity appoints former EA and Zynga executive as its new CEO

  • Matthew Bromberg will take on the role later this month
  • Bromberg previously served as group general manager of BioWare, before taking global responsibility for EA’s mobile business during a four-year spell with the company that ended in July 2016.
  • He left to serve as chief operating officer of leading mobile game developer and publisher Zynga, where he worked until 2022.

Firesprite lays off Horizon: Call of the Mountain Game director Alex Barnes

  • Barnes, who'd been with the company for seven years, directed its 2023 game Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
  • <Rumor> Beyond the layoffs, Firesprite's next project was reportedly canceled as part of the reevaluation.
  • It's claimed the UK studio was making a new live-service Twisted Metal game that was said to be in early development.

Rumor, Multiple Sources> Take-Two reportedly closing Private Division studios Roll7 and Intercept Games

  • Roll7 is the London-based developer behind OlliOlli and Rollerdrome
  • Seattle-based Intercept Games developed Kerbal Space Program 2
  • Take-Two wouldn't confirm whether Intercept Games has been impacted by the cuts—despite multiple Kerbal Space Program developers indicating they recently left the studio, with one expressly stating they were "laid off." A company spokesperson did, however, explain that its Private Division publishing label will continue to support Kerbal Space Program 2.
