“The game and its servers will remain online for players to enjoy and we will provide make-good offers to players who purchased the Hero DLC.”
The DLC referred to in the email was included in the $99.99 Bite Back Edition of the game. This included the ‘Hero Pass’, which was originally promised to include two extra heroes. That content has now been cancelled.
Acceleration Bay's legal battle with the Call of Duty maker ends after eight years
The case filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware claims that patents for networking and broadcasting were used in Activision's multiplayer title.
The publisher owes Acceleration Bay $18 million in copyright infringement for World of Warcraft and $5.4 million for two Call of Duty titles.

While the case against Activision Blizzard has been decided in favour of the tech incubator, it has also filed similar patent infringement suits against EA, Take-Two, and Amazon Web Services.
It should be noted that the first Hades game was originally an Epic Games Store exclusive, where it was released as an Early Access title in 2018, and didn’t come to Steam until 2019.
However, its peak on Steam wasn’t reached until the game came out of Early Access and officially ‘launched’ in September 2020.
