Former Rare Studios artist Brett Jones has passed away

  • Along with his work on GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, Jones did art and VFX for Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, and Doctor Who
  • A crowdfunding campaign is currently underway to get Jones' work displayed at the Atkins Gallery in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Splitgate 2 announced, coming to PC and consoles next year

  • Although Splitgate 2 isn’t coming to PC, PS4/5, Xbox One / Series S/X until 2025, a companion app for the game has been released today on iOS and Android, and contains collectables which can be used to unlock content in the game when it’s out

FTC claims Xbox’s Game Pass price hike is ‘consumer harm’ it warned of

  • “Microsoft’s price increases and product degradation—combined with Microsoft’s reduced investments in output and product quality via employee layoffs, are the hallmarks of a firm exercising market power post-merger.”
  • The FTC’s letter goes on to note that, “Microsoft’s price increases coincide with adding Call of Duty to Game Pass’s most expensive tier, and discontinuing the Console tier will happen shortly before releasing CoD’s newest game.”

Take Two warns investors that review bombings can hurt profits

  • Grand Theft Auto and NBA 2K publisher Take Two Interactive has added review bombing to the list of risks that could impact the publisher’s success, warning investors that the hostile campaigns may “lead to loss of players and revenues, additional advertising and marketing costs, and reputation harm.”
