Nintendo announces Museum-focused Nintendo Direct
- Focused solely on the upcoming Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan
- “Join us tomorrow, August 19 at 3pm PT, for a tour of the Nintendo Museum that’s scheduled to open during the fall of 2024 in Kyoto, Japan!”
- Video will be 10 minutes long
Sega’s 1993 fighting game Eternal Champions is becoming a movie
- Jurassic World and Detective Pikachu co-writer Derek Connolly is writing the film
- The film is set to be produced by Skydance, which is set to merge with Paramount Global next year.

Ubisoft cuts 45 jobs across Cary and San Francisco teams
- The reductions were spread across US offices located in Cary, North Carolina and San Francisco, CA. A Ubisoft spokesperson said the cuts were made to "align [their] organizations with future business and development objectives."
- Ubisoft's Cary team (typically known as Red Storm Entertainment) was the lead developer on several Tom Clancy titles over the years. More recently, it released Assassin's Creed Nexus VR and cancelled The Division Heartland.
- Meanwhile, Ubisoft San Francisco was the lead developer on the Rocksmith series. Other titles under its name include South Park: The Fractured But Whole and the free-to-play shooter xDefiant.
Tango Gameworks acquisition will transfer around 50 out of original 100 staff
- This is because others have since found employment elsewhere, and as such there are a number of job openings at the studio
