Steam’s new game recording feature is now available for everyone

  • The built-in system for creating and sharing gameplay footage works on Steam Deck too
  • Works with any game that supports the Steam overlay, including non-Steam titles.
  • It features a background recording mode which continuously saves gameplay as well as an on demand mode with manual start and stop.
  • When enabled by the player, it will capture gameplay footage through the Steam client but won’t capture video of the desktop or other programs, unless the user chooses to include the audio from other programs, for example voice chats.

20 years later, Konami confirms fan suspicions Metal Gear Solid 3's Eva was voiced by The Little Mermaid

  • The identity of Eva's voice performer has long puzzled Metal Gear Solid 3 fans, given the person listed in the game's credit - one Suzetta Miñet - didn't appear to be a real person at all.
  • In the newly released third instalment of Konami's Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series documentary, charting the history of the franchise, Benson finally confirmed her Snake Eater involvement.
  • "When we recorded... in 2003, just the various projects that I am affiliated with in my career are sort of family based, children-based, things like that."

Netflix Removing Interactive Specials

  • Originally believed to be ALL interactive specials, we have now learnt that the majority of specials will be removed December 1st
  • The specials that will remain post the December 1st date are: "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend, Ranveer vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, and You vs. Wild"

Take-Two has sold its indie label Private Division

  • It was claimed in May that Take-Two had laid off the “vast majority” of Private Division staff, and that it was shutting its Kerbal Space Program 2 developer Intercept Games and OlliOlli World studio Roll7.
  • On Wednesday, the publisher confirmed that it had indeed closed the two studios ahead of a sale.
  • Who the studio was sold to and how much for has not been disclosed

‘Disappointing’ Borderlands movie benefitted game sales, says Take-Two

  • Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has labelled this summer’s Borderlands movie “disappointing”
  • The company will continue to "selectively" license its IP for adaptations
  • In February 2022, it was announced that Take-Two had partnered with Netflix to produce a live action film adaptation of BioShock, which is set to be directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, The Hunger Games).
  • During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, producer Roy Lee said the scope of the BioShock film had been “reconfigured” after Netflix cut its budget.
  • “The new regime has lowered the budgets,” he said (via Variety). “So we’re doing a much smaller version. … It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project.”
