The demo states this feature "tracks the position and posture" of the users' hands, and the "library is available with the latest SDK of PlayStation 5".
All affected employees will receive severance packages and have been allowed to keep their work computers. Piggott added that the company is "working hard to help people find positions at other studios where we can."
The news follows the early access launch for the studio's latest game, zombie shooter No More Room In Hell 2. Despite the cuts, Piggott emphasised that the studio is "fully committed as we move forward with a full 1.0 release in 2025."
Through the agreement, Smilegate - the company behind Amazon Game's MMORPG, Lost Ark - will work with Absurd Ventures' new IP. The company said it will "benefit from Houser and his team’s proven narrative, AAA game and business expertise in the Western market, while Absurd will benefit from Smilegate’s expertise in the Asian market."
With funding primarily from firms The Open Platform and s16vc, the company is hoping to get in HTML5's "renaissance" in games. In the announcement on December 3, it outlined its plans for its PaaS ecosystem, which will include a unified SDK to allow for publishing across multiple platforms, a QA tool that consolidates those platforms' requirements into a single list, and tools for monetization, marketing, and payments.
